The Police Bill Alliance is an informal alliance of organisations opposing the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill’s assault on freedom, rights and marginalised communities.

30 prominent faith leaders state they ‘deplore’ the attack of the Gypsy and Traveller communities way of life and have criticised the ‘chilling affect’ the Bill would have on expressions of faith. You can read the full letter here.

This builds on an earlier letter from over 350 civil society organisations who called on the government ‘to fundamentally rethink its approach’ to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill.

The Bill will have a profound impact on the right to protest, constitutes a direct threat to Gypsy and Traveller communities, and includes a host of expansive policing and sentencing powers that will further entrench racial disparity in the criminal justice system.
